Introduction
Applied Chemistry, aims at the national strategy and industrial needs of this field and guided by chemical synthesis and sensing technology, focuses on training high-quality talents specialized in the new cross fields of chemistry, artificial intelligence and nanotechnology by combining foundation with application and theory with practice, so as to enable them to acquire solid chemical foundation, as well as interdisciplinary perspectives and innovative abilities such as artificial intelligence, sensing technology and nanotechnology. There are two characteristic orientations of intelligent detection and material chemistry, and Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Applied Chemistry and Pioneering Inter discipline Center for "Intelligent Sensing", providing favorable conditions for running school.
Training Objectives
This major focuses on the training of professional and technical talents and backbones in the industry who are patriotic and enterprising, innovative and speculative, master solid chemical basic theory and experimental skills, and have broad basic knowledge of mathematics, science, computer and other disciplines, and international perspective. Graduates mainly continue their studies as high-quality sources of postgraduate students in chemistry and related disciplines. They can also be engaged in the departments of scientific research, education and production technology for scientific research, technological research and development, teaching, production and management, etc. in chemistry and related fields.
Career Development after Graduation
The graduates have solid basic knowledge, strong ability in engineering practice, good chemical literacy and electronic information vision, which are widely praised by various companies at home and abroad. Over the years, over 99% of the graduates can be employed on the whole, among whom nearly 15% are recommended for school enrollment of postgraduates and nearly 40% are admitted to Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Xidian University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and other famous universities for further study, mainly involving catalytic materials, flexible electronics, chemical sensing, etc. In recent years, they have been employed in Samsung (China) Semiconductor Co., Ltd., Lanzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Company Limited, BYD Company Limited, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd., Foxconn Technology Group, China FAW Group Corporation, etc.
