Introduction

New materials, information technology and biotechnology are the important symbols of the new technological revolution. New materials, represented by nanomaterials, electronic materials, optoelectronic materials, biological materials and new energy materials, are becoming more and more active in technical innovation. Many fields of new materials are facing a series of new technological breakthroughs and major industrial development opportunities.

Materials Science and Engineering is an important pillar in today's social and economic development. It is mainly divided into three different levels: basic science, technical science and engineering technology. Basic science focuses on the basic scientific theory of materials; technical science, based on theory, focuses on common problems in material technology; engineering technology focuses on comprehensive application of basic science and technical science, to serve human beings by taking the most effective use of materials.

Training Objectives

1. To enable students to love their motherland, observe disciplines and laws, and have good professional ethics and professionalism, with the scientific and rigorous and realistic learning attitude and work style.

To enable students to acquire solid foundation and comprehensive quality, and master the basic theory, specialized knowledge and engineering technology related to Materials Science and Engineering basically. To cultivate applied and interdisciplinary high-level professionals in engineering technology and engineering management to serve enterprises, with strong ability to independently engage in scientific research and solve practical engineering problems in the field of electronic information material engineering and technology.

3. To enable students to acquire proficiency in a foreign language and be able to read foreign language materials of this discipline with professional writing and academic communication skills.

4. To enable students to acquire good humanistic quality and international perspective, to be good at communication and cooperation.

5. To ensure that the students are in both physical and mental health with good physical and psychological quality to undertake various professional work in this discipline.
